Hi Maria,
Thanks for reading our news blog!
Not only are the sales trending upward right now in almost all cities in the Metro area, but we are starting to see some zip codes turning from a buyer's market to a seller's market. That is a huge indicator that those neighborhoods have hit bottom (a while back) and are now in recovery mode.
Regarding your comment about single family homes, I agree, I couldn't live in a townhome or condo, I need my space! But, they are perfect for second home owners who only use the home a few months out of the year. they get to lock the door and forget about the place. Everything is taken care of for them (IE landscaping, general maintenance, etc.). Plus, living in a community of condos or town homes has another unique advantage over single family homes for them, it not obvious that no one is home like it would be in a single family home.

Single Family Home Sales are gaining an upward transaction compared to Condo/Townhouse sales trend.
Not that surprising, you know. Even I would prefer a single family house!
